I haven't done it yet, but I plan to put a black felt on the back so I can switch it up whenever I want to. Here's a picture of mine if you want to see it.

This looks great. Can you provide more details how you put it together? It looks like you added wheels etc. thanks

    Default my design wall....

I used Warm and Natural batting, and blocks stick to it easily. I only have to use pins when the top is about finished and it gets heavy. I have a picture of it somewhere. Let me look.

It is insulation board (from Lowe's...has Pink Panther on it), with the batting duck taped on it. Mine is portable, just move it out of the way when I am not using it.

Okay, I couldn't find the picture I was thinking of, but maybe these two will help? I do not know how I quilted before I made my design wall.

Thanks for this hint. I seldom use one so this will be the way to go in my case. Thanks for sharing.

I have a queen top on mine -- still in about 5 parts...some are pinned, some aren't. They stay as long as I don't move the wall or my cats don't rub up against it.

I have flannel but if I had to redo it I would try fleece. Someone here said that fleece
could hold an entire quilt without pins. Fleece would probably be cheaper too.
I wonder how microfleece would work. You can buy a large blanket for cheap.
