Designng a quilt using tumbling blocks
#2
Sounds like a really ambitious project, maybe even ground-breaking. I would study the methods online about how to make watercolor quilts and landscape quilts. Also I would think about getting a pic of what I want to quilt with a low number of pixels to help show how to position the blocks. How much detail are you wanting in your quilt? That will influence what you do. Those are my thoughts. Not very helpful.

You can get graph paper in all different shapes, not just squares. I know there is triangular (2 triangles make a diamond) and there may be a diamond shape as well. You can find them on line. Do a search for graph paper. You can also buy pads of graph paper in office supply and art supply stores. Once you have the paper, you can grab your color pencils and design away! :D
