Default diamonds between GFG hexes?

Hello All--I recently saw a pic of a Grandmother's Flower Garden that had small diamonds set in between parts of the hexi block. I don't remember where I saw it, but I thought someone here may know how to do it. It allows all of the flower blocks to be completed with the background hexi's all around, and then be connected using the diamonds. I'd really appreciate any help or direction on this. My sewing room is taken apart at the moment, so I'm back to working on my hand piecing.

I think is probably what you were looking for http://pinklemonadeboutique.typepad....others_fl.html
Note that there's a triangle at the intersection points, and diamonds along the straight edges.

Ah yes--the "saddest garage sale ever" is exactly the style I had seen. Apparently it's a vintage pattern. Thanks!

It sure is! Thanks so much. I'll have to play around with the paper pieces to size out the diamonds and triangles. Wish I could find a free printout like I did for the hexies

What size are your hexagons? My x husband was a draftsman and he drew this pattern out for me, and did pages of all the papers, for the hex's, diamonds, triangles, and the half hex's for around the edges. I could print you out a page of each and send it to you.

I'm going to be watching this post because I'm really curious to find out where you get the entire pattern.... hexie's and diamonds in various sizes. I've seen hundreds of GFG quilts with the added diamond but never find a pattern with the diamond included.

I am working on that one....the diamonds are the "picket fence" around the garden! Love it!. I got my pattern from Brandy's. http://brandysquiltpatterns.com/
