Did anyone get "quilty" gifts for Christmas????

Was wondering if anyone received gifts for quilting. This year was the first time I did. DH got me a armless ergonomic drafting chair to use when I quilting on the longarm. I thought he did a good job! Please let us know if you recieved a quilting gift.

wow, sounds like you're ready to go. I got a total of $170 in JA's gift cards. you know where i'll be tomorrow, coupons in hand.
put off till tomorrow what you can do today, and if you procrastinate long enough, you may never have to do it.

I bought some stocking stuffers for myself! Rulers, markers, needles, etc... and my special present is from DH, he is making me an add on to my sewing table with a hole in it to drop my sewing machine into! I'll have a BIG flat surface for quilting. I can't wait!

I got a flyer in the mail this week for JOAnn's. Read it carefully. The discounts excludes gift cards purchases. Read the fine print. I may be wrong! If it's true, I don't think it's fair. Like gift cards that have expiration dates. Like I said I may be wrong and I will stand to be corrected.

I'm almost positive that means that you can't get a discount when buying a gift card; it doesn't apply to using the gift card.

It means you can't get the discount when purchasing a gift card, not that you can't get the discount when using a gift card. I got a JoAnn gift card for Christmas too and I don't buy anything at JoAnns without coupons. I also got a really cute tote bag with a picture of an old Singer on it and for my big gift I got a Snoopy embroidery machine.

I believe (and I may be incorrect as well) that means you cannot BUY gift cards at a discount--but I'm pretty sure I've USED gift cards to buy discounted merchandise. Sure hope so for all those who received cards!

I didn't get any quilty stuff (have plenty for now...and plan on buying an ironing board cover at the big Quilting extravaganza/show in Albuquerque next month with some $$ I received) but I did give my sister, a new quilter, the Craftsy machine applique class and all the fabric, stabilizer, Wonder-under, thread, etc. that she needs to do the basic project.

One of our local quilt shops discounts their gift cards. Ex: pay $45 for a $50 card! Not a bad idea.

I think that means that if you purchase a gift card for somebody, you can't get a discount on it.
