    Wink Did Anyone Save This?

I haven't been a member too long and I saw info on a blog about a homemade recipe for Mary Ellen's Best Press that had appeared sometime ago on this board but they did not give the recipe. I could not find it in the Archive. I love it and find it is wonderful for hexagons. I would be glad to make it to save my money for fabric! Thanks for help in advance!

This is the recipe I use in a spray bottle:
    2 cups water
    1/4 cup cheap vodka
a few drops of 100% lavender essential oil

Mix and pour into a fine misting spray bottle. The one thing I do is to shake the misting bottle well before each use to make sure the ingredients are well mixed. I know I originally got this recipe from the QB some time ago.

The vodka I am using is Smirnoffs. It had been in the upper cabinet for 15+ years. Finally found a good use for it. As you can tell I am not a drinker. If I had to buy some I would certainly make sure it was CHEAP!

Never would have made it to 15 years in the back of the cabinet at my house!

Geri B., just a suggestion, but, don't put this statement on Facebook, or you might have more offers of help than you could imagine.

I use the cheapest vodka I can find the last bottle was $5 lol.. But it works well for this and for mixing essential oil sprays. I add a bit to the spray starch I mix myself it seems to make it last longer without getting that funny smell.

My dh and I still have several bottles of booze left from our wedding reception that was 22 years ago on the 19th of this month. You can tell we're real big drinkers!
