How does OUTLET sellers on Ebay sell the 6300 for $999. and the rest of the sellers price is $1199..Thanks for any input...
I bought the 6300 this summer, on Amazon for $999 and love it. It does what I want and I haven't had any problems.

Thanks Mary..Amazon price is now $1,199, as are all other dealers, except one OUTLET place on ebay.. I know nothing about them, so I hesitate..glad to hear it works for you...

I have no affiliation with this dealer, I'm writing just as a satisfied customer. I've ordered two machines from Brubaker's Sewing Center in Pennsylvania and I've been thoroughly satisfied. I can highly recommend them and they are an authorized dealer. Brubaker's is great for accessories too!

I'm in the same situation as you; my local Janome dealer is horrible to deal with. I did buy my Horizon from them as I didn't want to deal with shipping it for service, but I hate to give them any more money than I absolutely have to.

Thanks for the info Lynda..It's amazing how a business can be snooty, and expect us to spend our money with them...Especially expensive machines..
Our local Walmart has it written in their contract. No smiling or unnecessary nicetys... j/k..It just seems that way...We have some really nice cashiers, but the gals at the fabric dept. are something else..I'm extra polite with my please and Thank you's..Maybe it will rub off...

I bought the 6300 almost two years ago. I love it and have no problems at all with it. I piece and do fmq on it. I paid $999 new for mine at a Janome dealer in my area. I also looked at the 6500 and 6600. My 6300 has the same size throat as the other two. The only real difference I know of is the 6300 doesn't have the accufed (I just use a walking foot when I need to) and the 6300 also doesn't have the alpha/neumerical stitches, but I have them on one of my other machines. I would definitely recommend it. PM me if you have any questions.

I had a bad experience with Sewing Machine Outlet. Their website took an order for merchandise they did not have, because it was discontinued, then charged my card for more than the checkout amount. A few days AFTER they charged me an amount I did NOT authorize, a sleazy guy called me to tell me that they didn't have the item I ordered. He pressured me to accept a substitution which would, of course, cost even more. He really didn't want to take no for an answer. When I asked why I was charged for an item that was no longer available (since I've never been charged for an online order until it actually ships), and why the charged was more than the checkout amount, he said it was for shipping, even though the item I ordered was supposed to have free shipping. Anyway, I made it crystal clear I wanted no substitution and a prompt refund. I called my card company right away, but it took a few days to get a refund posted to my card, for an item THAT THEY NEVER HAD IN THE FIRST PLACE.

So I'd avoid them like the plague.

I bought a refurbed Pfaff from Brubaker's in PA and some accessories from SewVacDirect and had prompt, hassle-free transactions.

There are reviews of the 6300, 6500, and 6600 on PatternReview.com. Janome now owns the Elna and Necchi brand names and there's an Elna version of the 6600 (and maybe the others too) and Necchi versions coming soon. Cosmetic differences only as far as I can tell online.

Best of luck and enjoy your new machine, whichever you choose.

Maia...what a great source of information you have here...Thank You so much..I will avoid them like the plaque...they say they have been in business since 1949...From your experiece,I wonder how...Does not sound good to me..I guess the word 'outlet' does that to me anyway...Not worth the $200 difference to mess with people like that..I'll look into the other machines that are akin to Janome..thanks again..
