Default Disappearing purple school glue

Target has 6 small disappearing purple school glue sticks for $1 this week. Do you think that it is OK to use in quilting? Says that it washes out, but was just wondering if the purple would somehow transfer to the fabric.

Guess you could try it out on a small scrap of fabric to see how it goes.
If it dries clear, it might be ok to use.
But wouldn't use it on a whole quilt till it was put to the test.

The purple disappears on paper....but do a test run for sure, and may I suggest you store them in a zip lock bag, as the glue sticks tend to dry out fast, at least mine do.

Walmart has it for .10 a tube. It washes out completely. I've never had the purple color to leave a stain on fabric.

I found some white washable glue sticks at Office Max a few days ago in the glue stick section that were on sale for about $.69 for packages of 5. They were the store brand. There was a giant size stick too, but I decided the smaller ones were better for glue basting 1/4" size seams. They had lots of permanent and the disappearing purple ones, so I had to hunt around for these.

Sharon Schamber recommends Elmer's School Glue sticks with the purple coloring in her books - if they're good enough for her, they're good enough for me.
