Default Do not throw your alpaca wool batting in the drier

I am so bummed....I have had my quilt for several years. cold wash it and line dry. My husband was home today and decided to do laundry. He washed and dried...my quilt looks horrible and it shrunk..the batting but not the quilt top or bottom. the blocks are from an antique shop all butterflies. I could cry....

Aw, wool! Enough said. Can you maybe selvege the top and bottom if you took out the quilting and started again with new batting? I know, a lot of work. But maybe worth it?!

((hugs)) I think your only option is to remove the quilting, get another batt and re-quilt.

I am thinking the same. My husband says it looks fine...No, no it does not. It was so nice and warm but not being able to dry it in the dyer is a pain. I have 3 cats so not a smart move on my part.

Its going to be really hard to take it all apart but I would hate to throw it out. So that will be my take along project.
