I would like to make a quilt with 14 1/2 in squares in "attic window" quilt pattern, but don't know how to measure the borders for the window portion.(? trapozoid?) Can someone help? Most of the patterns call for a 9 in sq in the center. How do I measure and create for my size square?

I would determine how wide you want your "window frame" to be, draw it out around your 14 inch center, than draw in your diagonal line at the corners. Cut that apart and add your 1/4 inch seam allowance. Clear as mud?

Maybe you can use this as a reference.
