I fell in love with this one so will stay put. I tried others before and have dropped them real quick. I don't like the ones that are real bossy nieghter. If I wanted to be bossed around and have to constantly check in at a certain time that is a bit to controlling for me. ( I won't mention site names) none of them shared info and help like this one. I learn something here just about everyday. everyone here are so friendly and helpful. I love how everyone one incourages each other too. No one is trying to out best everyone else here is great too. we all understan we are all on different levels of learning and doing and that is okay. Everyone does things a little differently
and guess what ---thats okay. There was nothing worse than reading the quilt police let one person really have it on one site so I knew that really wasn't for me for sure. This site is great and I think we all want to keep it that way. It lets us to be us, no worries.
By the waya big thankyou for the site lead people for making and keeping it so.

The number of views and replies for threads on this board says it all! I spend waaaay too much time reading the threads and viewing the eye candy. But I've learned so many new tricks, viewed so many fabulous quilts, learned about so many cool projects (I'd never heard of the infamous Bow Tucks Bag), that the time spent is absolutely worth it! The Elmer's Washable School Glue threads have changed the way I quilt! I've started keeping an eye out for a vintage Featherweight now that I know the Vintage Machine people are there to help. People on this board are so kind, helpful, and sharing that's it a joy to visit. Mahalo to each and every one of you!

As for other boards, I've joined a bunch over the years: most have gone bye bye or just simply don't have enough traffic to make it worth visiting.

One site I did visit every day for years where I've been lucking and but have never posted is the APQS site: it was fabulous! Until they "upgraded" the board recently and lost everyone's favorite threads: all the fantastic longarm hints I'd saved are gone. I'm saving for my own machine (Innova) which is why I'd never posted. Now the APQS site seems to be dying: so many are heartbroken that their favorites are gone. The suggestion to read back through years and years of threads to find your favorites again went over rather flat. JMNSHO. I hope I'm wrong.

I also read kaboodles of blogs. This board is where I found Charisma's Corner which quickly became one of my favorites.

I'd love to join a guild. Several are very far away and on days I can't attend. When I asked about the "other" guild, a board member told me I'd have to make and donate at least three charity quilts a year to stay a member in good standing! So much for that!

Can't remember how I found QB but so thankful I did. As with most of the members I spend toooo much time here but as I'm retired I figure my time is mine to do with as I wish.
Can't imagine starting my day without QB & a nice hot cuppa. Thank you to each and every one of you for enriching my days.

nhweaver asks a reasonable question.
so far, the answers have been factual, informative and respectful.

no demerits or detention slips necessary.
As Patrice indicated, I asked for information about other sites that other QB members read. I have just started to follow some business blogs, and thought there may be some quilting ones out there. (OMG too many). I have gone to my QB friends for other information and thought that this is the place to go for this information.I enjoy this forum, very much - so much information, great friends, swaps, sharing and beautiful quilters, and the information that has been posted is informative and will help all of us. Thank you all for sharing!!!

I belong to APQS as I have an APQS Millennium longarm and they are very friendly. However, the site I enjoy and must see everyday is this fabulous site!

I'm a member o' the Quilting Haven & spend as much time there as here. I have friends on both places & love both. Each has it's own set of pro's & con's. Right now the FWS Pony Club is takin' up most of my time here.

This is my one and only. I barely have time to quilt now, if I belonged to more I wouldn't quilt I would just read about it!
