Do you get sloppy/lazy . . . sometimes??

I have been quilting since '03. I 'can' be a perfectionist and I can be LAZY. When I'm lazy I am usually doing a easy patterns and I don't have to concentrate. But I have gotten sooo lazy that I am unsewing :x because I did not pay attention to that oh so easy pattern. BUT then I take on a harder pattern and sometimes I feel that I am back at quilting 101. My 1/4" seams are off, my pressing is wonky or my blocks aren't the correct size. It can be so frustrating!!!
Then there are other times, everything goes perfect (OMG I am a quilter). Piecing goes fast, blocks look great and I do not feel 'worn out'.
Do any of you go into this type of 'slump'?

I'm working on an applique project that WILL NOT cooperate. No matter how I approach it, the outcome is lumpy and bumpy. So I decided to finish it anyway and call it "rustic" To heck with smooth curves - these apparently want to be choppy. HA!

Currently in a slump due to extremely hot weather, menopause and some side effects from chemo. So, yes, I'm very much in a slump-can't even bring myself to turn the iron on lest a hot flash knocks me over! :) So I'm doing handwork, English paper piecing grandmother's flower garden.
Hope to get out of my slump soon and finish up some UFOs.

Yep, I get sloppy/lazy when I'm in a hurry to finish the project. I can't help it - I get so excited to see it finished!
There are some areas in my life that I am a perfectionist, but quilting for some reason isn't one of them. Sure, I try to make it perfect, but it doesn't bother me when it's not.
