Locally, we've been discussing the possibility of sending comfort quilts to Japan. Would the cost of shipping make this an impossible gesture?

I think I'll go to USPS and UPS with one quilt in a box and just see what the cost would be. I have an address to send it.

All that the post office needs to calculate is the zip code.

That would be your best way. If you can connect with an organization that is sending items there and include yours that might be even better. Franklin Graham (Billy Grahams son) has a world wide ministry.

I send packages there a lot to family, it is spendy. Good idea to go with a charity that is sending them. They have donations and such to help with postage. Project Linus is also doing shipping of quilts, contact your local chapter by going to Projectlinus.org and click on your state, etc. Hope you find a way to help.♥♥

There's some info on e-Quilter's website also. Here's a link:

Thank you all for the information that you have supplied me today. I'm sure we will be able to ship to one of these places. If I did the proposed shipping correctly on UPS.com, it would cost about $150.00 to ship 7 pounds to Japan.

We already have the quilts made, we just need this pertinent information.

God richest blessings on you all,
