Default Do you keep a quilt diary?

I was wondering if you keep a 'diary' of the quilts that you've made? Do you keep the diary online or a stand alone notebook. Take pictures of the completed quilt?

I've kept a online picture folder of all the quilts I've created and who they were given to, charity etc... I don't quilt my own and I've had different LA quilters but now I'm thinking maybe it would be nice to figure a way to also document who quilted the quilt. I'm getting older and my "Forgetter" is becoming more evident in life. :0)

Just thought I'd ask what the rest of you are doing or perhaps don't feel the need or desire to document your quilts.

Like you, I have a folder of pictures. For my birthday, though, my aunt gave me a pretty leather-bound journal, so I'm planning to do a quilt diary in that. My forgetter is also becoming more of an issue--I just tell myself it is because I keep making more quilts and my data bank is getting more full!

I was keeping a folder of photos, but I haven't gotten photos of every quilt.

I have a folder in my computer for each quilt I've made, along with the pattern and any progress shots or whatever.

I also have a plastic 9x12 envelope for each quilt and in there I keep all my notes - calculations, design ideas, pattern stuff, and a copy of the pattern if I had one. That way I can look up what I did if I have to figure it out again.

Every quilt I've given away has a single page in a scrapbook called 'My Quilt Book' with the date made and the name of the recipient and a couple photos of the quilt. Of course I made my first one in January 2011 and I only have 14 pictures in the book to show for those three years!

Any leftover fabric goes into a clear plastic bag left open at the top and put into a drawer. The original pattern goes back into the looseleaf notebook which has all the patterns I have ever bought or cut out of magazine or whatever.

Am I a little obsessive? Probably, but my forgetter is working faster than my sewing machine!

I got a lovely book from a book club a few years ago. It is a half sized loose leaf with pages to fill in the information on each quilt you make. The pictures are still in my camera and the information is still in my head. I haven't entered a single word in the book. I guess I am a big procrastinator and that will never change. I don't label my quilts either. I think the quilt police would throw me in quilt jail and throw away the key!!!

I have a list of all my quilts - comforters and biscuit quilts. Some have dates, most are just listed by years.
I don't put labels on my quilts either. Not going to worry about them after I die.
