While I was at one of my LQS's the other week, a lady came in looking for a 1/4" foot to piece a miniature quilt. I was astounded, and impressed, when I saw her collection of tiny squares and triangles etc.

I would love to try one some time, but I think I need to do a lot of work to improve my cutting skills first.

I make mini quilts and use them for door hangers. Maybe mine r smaller than most people's mini's. I make them for different seasons and special occasions.

I have been making mini quilts for the Doll Quilt Swaps. They are so fun to do. Seven done so far. I use them to try new techniques, and I like that they are small and easily finished quickly.

Miniature is my preferred size. It is a great way to to try new techniques and blocks. It's perfect if someone is intimidated by FMQ, because not alot is needed, not alot of fabric or batting is needed either and if you are working in a limited space and don't have a sewing room, miniatures are a good solution. If you don't want to make a miniature, you can make a little quilt instead.

What is the difference between a miniature and a little quilt, by your definition?
