I like to do both machine and hand applique. But, I'm not sure which one that I like better. Which do you prefer?

Prefer the look of hand applique, but not always possible because of time constraints. I also consider the expected end use of quilt when choosing an applique method, and will machine applique utility quilts.

I like them both. I do love the look of needle turn appliqué but it is very time consuming so I understand the popularity of machine quilting. They both have merit, and both look nice when the method fits the intended design.

lI like the look of needle turn over machine applique but use machine applique myself. Too many quilts and too little time left to do needle turn for me.

I prefer the look of hand quilting but I also prefer the speed at which the applique quilting can be done. I guess that is a toss up with me.

Definitely hand applique, either needle turn or sometimes blanket stitch if it's on a larger piece for a child's quilt.

I love hand applique but I never do it; my arthritis keeps me from doing quality handwork. I only do machine applique, particularly since almost all my applique is done for children and I want it sturdy. I started doing applique on clothing when my now 33 year old son was a baby. After all, what other decorative technique can you do on little boy play clothes?

Definitely love hand applique. The only machine applique I've seen that looks almost as nice is done with invisible thread - I don't like invisible thread and it doesn't like me.

If the machine stitch isn't heavy statin stitch or plain zig zag, then I prefer machine stitched. A tiny blanket stitch is the best looking for me.
