I don't have a walking foot. i make sure that the weight of the quilt doesn't bog down the sewing.

The layers are already quilted and stable so I just attach it with a regular 1/4 foot for years, never a problem

I never use a walking foot, just the 1/4" foot.

I cut my double fold binding 2-1/4 inches and I like using the regular zig zag foot on my Bernina with a straight stitch. It is slightly larger then a 1/4 inch seam and it works perfectly for the folded to the back binding to just cover the sewing line when I hand stitch it to the back.

I just use my regular foot--for some reason I have more trouble with the walking foot but think that I need to adjust the pressure on it--and attach to front and hand sew to back (usually).

I don't have a walking foot, but haven't had trouble with regular foot.
