work on one quilt top at a time or do you have 2 or 3 quilts going at once? I like to have another one cut and ready to start but I have to finish sewing each one before I start on another top or it never gets done.

Only 2 or 3? How about more than that! I always have one I'm actively working on, one sitting on the shelf waiting for an inspired moment, a couple more with patterns and fabrics pulled, one that has been haunting me for years and years, one that just needs to be quilted, one that. . . . They eventually all get done, but I don't feel compelled to finish one before I start the next. When inspiration and motivation strike me, I'm ready!

I enjoy working on different projects as I go. I have 3 quilt tops I am working on plus many small projects and one king size quilt that I am tackling

I have heard that to be a true quilter you need one ready to be quilted, one in the process of being pieced, and one being planned. I seem to be an overachiever. There are more than that in my sewing corner. :)

I have one baby quilt that needs one row quilted and then to be bound.
I have one crib quilt cut out, partly sewn.
I have one queen size that is pieced EXCEPT for the last border of 12 inch blocks I have yet to cut and sew.
I have one queen size that is cut and partially sewn. Has to be finished by August to go to long arm quilter.
I have the fabric and pattern for 3 or 4 baby quilts planned but not cut yet.
I think WIP is just part of the quilting process.

I've got one ready to quilt, one waiting to be layered, set of fabrics to cut for another, one being pieced - no more room to play with anymore.

Sometimes I sort thru my projects just to see what I have going. I have one that just needs the border finished on it. I am hand quilting that one. Another one laying there beside it to hand quilt. A sampler quilt started with three blocks done, a few table runners for Christmas presents, which I know will get done. Picked up a row by row from my quilt group yesterday that we have only a month to work on be fore I exchange it for the next one and the list goes on. Marge
