Basting spray or curved pins to quilt? I was told Basting Spray 505 is best. Has anyone tried this or do you have something you like better?

I love spray basting Vs Pinning. I use 505 , but have also had pretty good luck with the Dritz brand sold at Jo'anns.

I'm still pinning my curves, I'll have to try the spray.

I use the 505 on all my quilts, tablerunners etc., and I love it. I don't think I'd try any other way.

Thumbs up 505 spray vs. pinning

I made a quilt for my daughter & her husband for Christmas & it was a nightmare. After pinning & taking it apart twice because the backing was CRAZY, I asked for help on this board & it was recommended to starch the backing & use spray 505 & OMG it worked & I wouldn't go back to pinning unless I was absolutely desperate. I couldn't be more grateful for that suggestion.

I totally dislike spray basting. It is messy and I prefer the pins, curved or not doesn't matter to me. Someone once told me to you T pins. I tried it and dislike like them because I was always getting stuck with them enought to bleed on the material even. So I would never suggest Tpins to anyone.

I use 505, but I do put a few pins in larger quilts -- I just don't pin very much.

I pin everything. I haven't used spray basting because I don't trust it not to gunk up my machine.
