a quilt label out of cotton. I always just used a tearaway on the bottom and have had no trouble, but when I was at the floriani event she said always use was away on top too.Granted they are out to sell product. Just wondering if anyone does this. Thanks Gale

I print my labels so I don't really have answer to your question. With cotton, you should be fine without a wash away on top. I do use a wash away on top with twill, corduroy, towels, velveteen, knits, etc.; but I have never felt that I needed it with cotton. You might try a wash away with a label and see if the label looks better. My gut reaction is that the label will look just as well without the wash away.

The only time I've used something on top was if there was a nap, like terry cloth or velvet. The stabilizer on the top keeps the nap down so you don't get 'pokies' (technical term).

I have found dealers use vastly more stabilizer than I do.

I only use water soluble on top of terry cloth or minky.

Never use anything on top. I have never had a problem.
