I use 0216 med beige grey for everything except white, then I use white!

Unfortunately I've only seen Presencia at a quilt show, so I have to order on line. The best colour chart I've found is here. Although it's a UK company, you could email them (I've emailed them before with a query and they were very helpful) and ask to describe the 206 shade - looks off-white to me. Happy quilting!

Found out discount embroidery carries Prescentia at a better price than I've seen before.

I prefer using 3-ply threads for piecing; I don't have evidence that they're stronger, but it seems they would be stronger than 2-ply. The Presencia does seem very strong; I pieced first with 50 wt., but it seemed too thick, so now I order the 60 wt. for piecing.

I use Superior's Bottom Line thread for piecing all the time. It's easy to find in my neck of the woods. It's a 60 wt poly. I use neutral cones for machine sewing, and the donuts of prefilled bobbins in assorted colors for applique, binding, and any other handwork. Sinks right into the fabric just as well as silk, and is much more affordable.

Peckish----Do you use it in the bobbin? I find is slips out of mine quite often. That does not happen with cotton.

Yes, I use it exclusively and have no issues at all.
