I hope I'm putting this in the right section. Sorry if I'm not but I need to know if anyone has, Quick Trip Quilts by Eleanor Burns.
I'm confused about the directions and need help. Some of the items in the table of contents are, Quick Trip Around the world Quilts, Quick Quarter Quilts and Water Lily Quilts. So my question is,

The directions say, Place your Center Fabric in # 1 position, and arrange remaining fabrics in a pleasing order so one fabric blends or transitions into the next fabric ( I understand that) but then it says, Cut 3/4" square peices from leftover fabrics and glue them in place. (where do I glue them)?

I don't have that particular book but i think she means to make a color chart showing a small swatch of color 1, another one showing color 2 , color 3 and so fourth so you will know which color goes where. Hope this makes sense. Esther
Use an index card or a peice of paper to glue ths swatches to.

She does this in a lot of her quilts. And I agree-----sometimes the directions just don't cut it!

You glue them to the work sheet at the beginning of the pattern. It is a way to remember what number each fabric is because it can get confusing. If you need help I ahve made several of her quilts from these books (30 quilts) Pm me if needed. Jade

Quiltforme, How do I PM you? Sorry as you can tell I've been doing a lot of reading on here and not a lot of writing. I do have another question. I've never done one of these but my hands are getting itchy.

There are no dummies here, just people who sometimes need another set of eyes to help with interpretation.

At the top of this page, click on Private Messages to send a PM. You need to know the member's name to send a message, so you might want to write that down before clicking the Private Messages link. When someone sends you a PM, the words Private Messages will be highlighted in yellow. I'll send you one now so you can see it. :)

I hope you post a picture of your color chart in this thread so that anyone else reading it will have a visual of what you are supposed to do. Good luck with your quilt!

I'll post a picture of the color chart. I think I will start small with a baby quilt. I have a friend that's going to have a baby, it's a girl so I'll need to get more fabric. Well I'm sure I have enought but you never know.

Thanks for your help, I'm going to look for my message.

I see you found your PM! :)

You are smart to start with a small quilt from that book. Then you'll get the hang of how it goes together and you'll see how helpful your index card will be.
