Default Mystery Presser Foot

When I purchased my entry-level Bernina years ago, it had a snap-on foot in the box of presser feet that didn't seem to belong.

Well, I found out today what it is - it is a Brother overlock/overcast foot. And it works brilliantly. Much better than the one that came with my Bernina.

Is there a resource that shows compatible feet? Bernina feet are really expensive.

the only thing about using a 'compatible' foot is that if something happens, Bernina will not honor the warranty.

My Juki TL98QE and Babylock Jane, both straight stitch only machines take the same feet.Too old for any warranty.

I don't know of any "manual" of compatability, it usually seems to be trial and error or word of mouth.

How did you get a snap on foot to work on a Bernina? Did you have an adapter?

The presser feet that came with the Activa 240 were mostly snap on, with the shank having a little red plastic tab or fitting at the back to release the foot from the shank.

I don't worry to much about Bernina honouring warranty as it is way out of warranty now.
