I tried to access dquilts blog, but it would not let me open the tutorial? I kept getting a message that the page could not be opened in a frame. Anyone have a clue for me as to what that means?

A few years ago Bernina had a pattern for a similar one. You might try checking on their web site and blog to see if it is still available.

That will make a wonderful gift and is not hard. I've even seen it with a steno pad instead of cutting mat that could be used for students, meetings, etc. I don't use mine very often, but when I need it I know it's there. I usually use it for cutting paper, photos, things like that. I know that the rotary cutter I keep in it is not for sewing.

I agree, Tartan. That is a good pattern.

the very talented lady who designed that pattern and has kept the price low, should have the respect and loyalty of other quilters/sewers ....it is truly the best one for it's purpose. Other items she designed years ago but did not patent have been copied by some very well known (TV) 'quilting personalitys' and patented by these 'pseudo celebritys'
IMHO.....the pattern should be purchased by the person wishing to make the item.

I saw this one in a link someone posted earlier. Looks very similar to what you're looking for. The pattern is a free download.
