Good morning everyone and happy Christmas eve. Here is a question, that I don't know if it's been asked before.
I was cleaning out my quilting cabinet and came across a pair of electric scissors that my mother had.
Does anyone use electric scissors to cut their fabric with?

Nope--they were too hard to control accurately------

Oh what a memory- my mother had a pair and loved them. I haven't thought of those in 30 years! I don't think they are useful for precision cutting, however.

I inherited my Mom's. All I remember is her frustrated muttering & cussing every time she used them. They are staying in their box, maybe displayed on a shelf when I get my sewing room all set up, but I definitely won't be trying to use them. :)

I tried them once but I thought they were aweful. The fabric kept getting stuck in the blades.

One of the ladies at our Hancocks uses them to cut the fabric but I've never cared for them. I guess it's all in what you get used to but I don't think they'd be good for precision cutting like we need. Cutting around clothing patterns is what I think they were made for. Might work well for cutting wrapping paper though.

My DM still has hers, but she doesn't use them. They're not very precise.

That is so funny! I just straightened my sewing closet this week, and came across a box that I didn't know what it contained. It had my MOm's electric scissors , thr plastic feet for invisible zippers and my FW zipper foot. I also had my own electric scissors, and like the others, tried them once and never again. For me it was the cord getting in the way that I didn't like.
