Our beloved Welsh Corgy, who is 14 years old had a terrible diarreah accident on our bed quilt and I just can't get the stain or the smell out of the fabric. Any suggestions?

Oxyclean would get the stain and the smell out, but I'm not sure how safe it is to use on a quilt. Orvis might also get out the stain, but I'm not sure about the smell, but it is safe for use on quilts.

Our cat Bryan (she can jump really high when not with kittens) whom we also call High Flyin Bryan, has a special family quilt she has her kittens in each and every time. Every stain on that quilt Bryan leaves is a family story.

oxyclean should take care of the stain and baking soda will help with the smell. Just make sure that you don't dry it in dryer until the stain is all the way out.

You might want to try some of that enzyme stuff for pet stains from the pet store. The stuff I use is called Nature's Miracle, and it does a pretty good job. I'm not sure how safe it would be on a quilt.

Even if you get the stain off the top layer of fabric, do you really want to continue to use the quilt, especially for sleeping under?? Think about all the bacteria that is rapidly spreading throughout the batting. Personally, I would get rid of it. Some things just are not worth the risk to your own health.

Do you have Febreze over there? It is very efficient in taking unwanted odors out of everything.

For the cleaning, maybe try 1) soda powder or 2) tooth products that whitens our teeth. Always make a first try on an unapparent part of the fabric before trying it on the whole area and proceed bit by bit.

You could also try posting your question on the Tide message board. I've gotten a lot of great stain removal advice over there.

There is even a sub-board for pet stains.

I would like to know why my posts on this thread were deleted. What kind of forum is this anyway? Some people around here seem kind of rude. I come here looking for someone to chat with and get treated like crap.

I was going to tell you all about the log cabin quilt I'm working on for my dad. He's a log cabin republican so it will have a very special meaning to him. I hope to have it finished by his birthday. But since you all are very unwelcoming to newbs then I won't discuss it with you. Good day!
