You know you're a quilter when...

...your kid takes your quilt to school for show and tell. (What a nerd)
...your kids' dinner place mat is your rotary cutting mat.
...your shower drain is clogged with thread, not hair. (Ewww!)
...your one year old's first word (only word) is "bobbin."
...you have a different quilted bag for every pair of shoes.
...you have made your own bra with fabric scraps.
...your little girl is learning how to read from your quilting magazines.
...you have piles of fabric on top of the laundry. (that will never be folded)
...you wake up with a needle in your hand.
...your vacuum stops working because the brush is full of thread.
...you consider making a diaper out of scrap fabric. (That's a stretch)
...you wake up at 2:00 AM with a great quilt idea.
...you wake up your husband to tell him.

So how many of these are true for all of you?

...you will sew a gazillion scraps into a block but refuse to mend a hem or sew on a button.
...you need a room just for your hobby and guests have to stay in a hotel.
...you have more than one sewing machine and are surprised when others comment about that.
...you can spend a whole day taking out your fabric, petting and refolding it.
...you follow strangers in the mall because you love the pattern on their clothing.
...you approach those strangers and TELL them how their shirt/tie/skirt would be the PERFECT addition to your quilt.
...almost all conversations lead to quilting.

So why are you all gossiping about me?

So what if I did cut up a good pair of DH's lounge pants, just because I loved the pattern and wanted it to put in a quilt, Does that make me crazy?

So what if I was disappointed because my DD gave me a gift card to Belks, instead of one to my LQs?

So what if I throw DH's dinner together at the last moment because time got away from me, does that make me a bad wife?

So what if I sit in church on Sunday morning and look at the material in everyone's clothes, no one knows, do they?

MY Name is Ninnie and I am an addicted quilter!!

I thought I was the only one who considered the washing machine and dryer a place to put fabric. I had a nice hole in the middle so I could reach the knob to set the dryer.

Don't know if you know this or not....years (and years   ) ago we had a Belks and they DID have fabric!!!! :D A whole floor of it too! I would go there with my Mom. Here in town they were in a building with 3 stories and had the old iron fronted elevator (that had an operater!) and the fabric was on the 3rd floor! I would ride up and down while she shopped! It burnt back years ago.

my "sewing room" is in my laundry room! I thought that was where I was suppose to put it!
