We have a queen size bed and the matterss is much thicker than it use to be. You might want to measure if this is the size you will be doing to make sure that the quilt hangs over the mattress far enough (that is if it will be used in place of the bedspread or ocmforter.

I'm so glad y'all thought of the deeper mattresses. I've never made a bed quilt, so I had forgotten about how thick some of the mattresses are now. And I don't know if those measurements I found reflect that.
