Patrice i wasnt in chat tonight, but i do know from my hd forum, when they've had a couple of intruders, the admin there was able to block the person from the forum and the chatroom, also, the hd chatroom the moderators can also temporarily blcock someone, but on my other forum, the admin uses the persons computer address? like ip address or something, and they can put a permanent block from that computer from coming onto the forum or the chatroom, hopefully, this forum and chat has the same features. Gee guys, that must have been unnerving to say the least

Do we have an "ignore" feature to where we can individually block the content of someone in chat? that way it never shows up on our screens?

edit: I just checked and there is not. We can hide the users box that's on the right side of the screen only.

Wasn't on chat last night, but how does one steal your name? I read the post not to go on so didn't. Why does someone have to ruin the fun times of others? Do they have to register to be on chat?

I was in chat yesterday evening, this person was so vulgar to my friends I was really shocked at what he was saying.
I have never experienced anything like this before, it was more annoying than upsetting.
I feel for the person whose nick he was using, how is it possible to use someones nick?
I always log in but I am aware that not everyone does this. I am unable to access the chat room unless I log in.
Hopefully this nuisance won't return again.

This thread frightens me. I've heard all kinds of warnings about "putting yourself" out on the internet and have always felt very safe here. I can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like for those of you chatting.

It does lead me to some questions about the live chat feature, though, maybe there are some answers around. There have been times when I've logged into this site and a box pops up that says there is a live chat, click to join. I've never clicked it because I don't know how long the chat has been happening and have a thing about joining conversations I'm not part of. Do people come and go during the chat? Is there any way to know what time the chat started? (can you tell I've never been to a chat site?)
Also, I see mention of a log of the chat, is there a place to see chat logs?

a chat could be going on for awhile with many different users coming and going through out it. When someone new stops in everyone always says a greeting in welcome and catches them up to where the convo is. Don't feel like you are jumping into something you don't have any business in!! We love when others join us! It's a great way to get to know the members here! We don't get trolls there often at all. Please don't let that icky dope prevent you from coming and having fun with us!! :):):)

Yes Adyldrop you have put it all so nicely. Please jump in and join us anytime and you will be greeted warmly ....just let us know it's your first time and we will try to make you feel welcome. We don't get these creeps very often and when we have in the past they usually don't stay very long. We bore them real soon usually, this one was just wierd last night. We become an extended family in chat somewhat of a since of community, and know so much of each others joys and problems. Everyone is always concerned for each other. Give us a try.

Well, I hope she didn't use my name! I am never vulgar!

I did pop in to chat the other day, but I don't have much time online anymore - DH takes online college classes, so he needs the computer.
