I like things neat, but I usually have several things going on at the same time so I have piles of stuff all over. My room is just too small! In a couple weeks my new big room will be ready and I'm hoping to keep things more neat and organized.

I'm all or nothing. It's neat as a pin or neck deep. I clean up and organize after I've finished a large project but sometimes have several going at once so things get away from me.

you are not a fusspot -lol. You sound like you like things neat-tidy and organized. Something that is a big wish for most of us.

I keep my space neat and tidy too. Can't work in a messy space. I have bins for projects and I have a little craft caddy thing that I keep all my frequently used notions and tools in, so they are sitting out right where I need them, but not all over the place. All my fabric is on boards in rubbermaid totes and everything has a place.

I'm the same! I have all the necessary tools I'll need right next to my machine. They're on a flat tray (cover of a large shoe box) with a cloth liner so I can spot whatever I need right away. I have to have it neat when I start out sewing and then when I end it for the time being I straighten up. All fabric is sorted, and other extras are organized. Not saying all should work this way, but it's better for me.
Hello from Shenandoah Valley, VA. Quilting a few years. Love the process of creating the quilt top, but don't like making the sandwich of top, batting and backing as much. We have two Labrador Retrievers, a yellow and a chocolate. Blessings to all!

Can you come to my house? I spent last year working so many hours I ended up sick & spent two days in the hospital. Now as I look around my house & especially my sewing room/studio I really understand how long I was sick and how much i let things go. I can't find anything. Ii'd love too be nice and neat again.
Creative clutter is more blessed than tidy idleness.

I find I'm more productive when things are put away and organized. With that said, when I get going it looks like a fabric factory blew up in there. It's a no-win, constantly organizing situation.

I like neat and tidy too---Just never seems to stay that way LOL I don't put anything away until the top is done, I always have to go drag some thing again if I do, but fabric is neatly stacked at the end of counter templates, or anything else needed kept I small basket when I am not in the room If I don't do this and throw a sheet over all fabric my sewing partner just can't resist checking it out. I like neat and tidy, too, but can't seem to manage it.

My sewing stuff is in different rooms in a small 3 bedroom house. My sewing machine (in cabinet) is in the master bedroom, along with a small--very small--Sterlite drawer unit that holds thread, needles, pins, other supplies, and my rulers and rotary cutters are in a plastic holder bag hanging on the the back of the bedroom door. My fabric (stash) and batting is in the closet of the guest room. I also have boxes of miscellaneous sewing supplies, etc. in a hall closet. I cut on the table in the dining area and set up my ironing board in that area, too. All three rooms usually show evidence of my current project. But I do tidy up between projects, and more often if something is taking too long to finish and I can't stand the mess any longer, or company is expected. I'd love a dedicated sewing room but can't sacrifice the guest room (need a space for grandkids when they stay overnight).
