They are a lot lighter than the Shout Colour Catchers.
Just saw on another thread that Colour Catchers are supposed to be place in a mesh bag, if used in a front loading machine (to prevent them ending up in the mechanism). I bet the same would work for these.

Although I don't have a front loader ... just a top loading stacker!

I'll be trying to remember now to pin them to something .... or into a mesh lingerie bag.

Try putting them in a lingerie bag. That's what the Color Catchers package suggests for folks with front load washers (like me). Won't go down the drain then!
