I grew up in New England but have lived in TX since "82 (because of husband's job). I dream of a place in VT or NH in the woods (but not too far from a fabric store) with a huge room for my quilting with one wall all windows beside a babbling brook. Of course, the room would have to have a fireplace, too.
What's your dream quilting place?

I really do not know but yours sounds wonderful. A nice cup of hot tea while I think about the next design.

Sounds great to me. I'd like more than one quilt shop for variety but maybe that makes me greedy.

Sounds wonderful--only one problem--I'd never get anything done! Too busy sitting in front of the fireplace, feet up, drinking coffee/tea, admiring the view outside!

I think you just described a place near but not in Stowe. Nice shopping, quiet town, ski resorts near by and mountains all around. Can I move in with you? We could keep each other encouraged.

I think I am in my "dream" place.... I have a few quilt shops within an easy drive (but also a large stash or so I think, nothing what you members post) ....I have quilting buddies that I meet up with every couple weeks (at least) ....I can have a quilt retreat in my own little 9 x 9 room any time day or night....DH doesn't mind....Also I am fortunate to have a few retreats in the area that I can sign up for if I REALLY need a break!

You have the quilt shops at your fingertips with the internet.... so many to look through... good I know but not as good as the local shops..
Sounds wonderful to me...

Dang, that's my studio! No kidding, I turned the family room into my dream studio about six months ago. Fireplace, cathedral ceiling, windows on east and west sides, surrounded by 2,000 acres of protected forest, dirt road, and plenty of quilt shops within an hour drive in any direction, Keepsake Quilting included. The brook is dry because of the lack of rain, but the two ponds are healthy, the loons laugh every morning to greet the day and the turkeys stroll down the driveway every evening on their way to roost for the night. Life is grand in the granite state!! ;) Dreams DO come true.
