    Dresden Quilt Templates

    Hello all!

I know how to make a dresden plate (thanks to the person who gave me a template!)

What I am trying to figure out is the math to calculate it so I can make my own template. For example, if I want 8 "petals" how do I do those calculations.

The template ruler that I have gives me 21 petals - that's too many for the one I want to do!

Thanks so much in advance, because I know that someone on here knows how to do it!

    Hope everyone enjoyed their summer!

A circle has 360 degrees, so you divide 360 by the number of petals you want. 360 divided by 8 is 45, so your template needs to be 45 degrees.

360 degree divided by 8 = 45 degree. I just bought the Creative grid 45 degree spider web ruler from hancock's of Paducah. I want to use it for stack and whack and dresdens. Good luck.
