Angry Janome 3160 QDC

I have had to take my machine back 4 times now to have the bobbin case replaced. Has anyone else had this nightmare with this machine?

I have had this model of Janome for 4 or 5 years without a single problem. I can't tell you how many hours I have sewn and quilted with it; I use it at least every other day. I have only taken it in once for a cleaning (waiting for the lightening strike !) because I absolutely detest the dealer that sold it to me and I refuse to give them another penny. I won't even buy fabric from them. Sorry you are having so much difficulty with your machine.

I have had my machine for almost a year now and LOVE it ..you may have got a lemon ask for a complete exchange if it is still underwarranty.

I agree totally with this. Something in your machine is jacking up your bobbin case. They need to fix what ever is doing that and not just replace the bobbin casing

I had all kinds of trouble with the bobbin case in my Janome 6500. So much rattling and jumping that I put the needle right through it and ruined it completely. My dealer kept telling me that it was "operator error" which really ticked me off and wouldn't do anything about it. Then I finally found out about the oil wick hole (from the online Janome 6500'6600 group) under the bobbin case that needs to be oiled sometimes. Now when it starts rattling, I just drop a drop of oil in there. My machine has had other issues too. It's been an expensive bad machine with an even worse dealer. I'll never buy another one.

I have a Janome Memory Craft 7600 Professional. I love my machine and have not had an ounce of trouble....I do not know your machine but that sure doesn't sound right. I hope someone with your model responds... As one of the other members responded there are 2 places to oil...the wick which is a small round hole under the bobbin case ....should be oiled like once a month with a drop only...then there's a ring immediately around that wick that needs a drop like every 6 months....however, I doubt that is your issue...sorry.

I love this machine. No problems at all. It's a great little workhorse. Try the oil. I do a little drop here an there on both my Janomes. My Brother PQS1500 on the other hand takes a lot of oil.

It sounds like the real problem is with your dealer. Can yo take it somewhere else? May void any warranty, but you'll be treated better.

I have this machine. I bought it this past Spring. I love it and have not had any problems with it. If you want a really great dealer go to Threads of Time, Danville, Illinois. I have been very happy with the service I get there.

Me too! I have had the bobbin case replaced twice. My machine is only a year old and it is frustrating, but overall I like my machine. I use it every day. I have gotten great service, so no problem there, it may be this model is prone to bobbin case problems. Time will tell if I have any more problems with it. I purchased a 3 year extended maintenance agreement when I purchased the machine, so that was a good thing.
