I need a pattern or suggestion for the easiest possible mini-quilt--wall hanging.
My sister-in-law will be turning 80 soon, and I want to include a mini in with her card. It has to be super-easy, or it won't happen for me.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Mariah.
Thanks!

Postage stamp comes to mind, or square in a square. Rail fence would work up quickly. How mini are you talking?

Maybe a Amish style square in a square with a couple of borders? Just thinking!

how about the tube quilt. That would be very fast and pretty. Or rail fence.

Thanks for the wonderful, quick to receive suggestions. I had forgotten sq....square. I don't have a pattern for it that is mini. I have one for wall hanging size, but not mini.
What is tube quilting? Please tell me and how to do it.
I know what Rail Fence is, but how do I adapt it to mini
size?
As to what size--the smaller the better-or whatever would be quick to put together.
My idea is to make it in an evening, then sandwich and add minimal quilting sat.-Sun-mail Tues. the 29th.
Thanks loads to all.

When you mentioned mini, I immediately thought of mug rugs. There are sooo many wonderful photos posted here for ideas! I did Dresden plate mug rugs... so simple there is a tutorial listed for that and many others.
Just a suggestion!

maybe find a small panel with a cute quote or saying on it and finish it up with a sleeve for hanging on the back. personally, I just LOVE Maxine and her sharp whit.....and those little panels are about 6x9 inches....

Thanks, everyone for your great suggestions. Think I will settle on the "Square in a Square." I can pretty much copy that from my wall hanging.
Have a great weekend!
