I need/want to make a baby quilt for my niece's baby due just before Christmas so I don't have a lot of time. I'm looking for a pattern that's not too complicated but is more than just blocks. Would like some design to it. I am wanting to make it out of 30 Reproduction Fabrics. Anyone have any easy patterns that make a quilt look more complicated (professional) than it might be? Also looking for a pattern for a Christmas lap-size quilt for neice's mother after I saw the post several days about the "Making a Treasure" with a quilt, scrapbook, popcorn bowls, and the neat poems that were shared. I LOVED the idea and would like to do for the mother who just re-married two weeks ago.

There are tons of easy fat quarter quilts out there.
D9P is pretty and easy, Rail Fence is easy and the blocks can be set any way you want it.

Do a Google search for FREE EASY QUILT PATTERNS and you'll come up with some nice ones

I'm doing the same thing and found this pattern that I am thinking about. It is the Boxy Stars Scrap Quilt and it can be found @ Quiltville.com. There are a bunch of other ones there that are very nice. The Framed 9 Patch is a nice looking one too. And, since they are done with scraps, it keeps the cost down.

A nine patch with alternate strip squares is a very easy and fast quilt to make. Just sew 3 strips togather then cut to size for the alternate square.
I like useing 2 1/2 inch strips. Use the same size for the nine patch.

I absolutely love the warm wishes quilt. I have made one and I had a friend make one. It turned out so nicely she is going to be making another one for a different baby (she knows a lot of people who have babies! In the past year I swear she has made a dozen baby quilts!!)

Thanks a million!!! What a perfect pattern for the 30's Repro fabric I want to use. Plus I think I will be able to use a lot of my scraps for it without having to buy a bunch. I love, love the quilt and really appreciate your sending it. I've already printed the pattern and now I just need a little bit more fabric. (famous last words for a quilter, huh?) I'll post picture when finished.
