Default 6 fat quarters quilt challange

I just joined a quilt guild. I jumped in and joined the quilt challange to make a quilt top from 6 fat quarters chosen from a sealed brown bag from another member. The colors range from maroon, teel, pinks in beautiful batiks. The quilt top size is 96 inches around..but can add your own fabric if you want. Sounds like a great project, but now my mind is at a stand still for ideas. Any ideas out there? Thanks a bunch!

i love those challenges. did you see the winner of the mini quilt contest here http://www.quiltingboard.com/quiltin...t-t204639.html. it's an easier pattern but very impressive. how about doing one like that? of course, a little bigger

I thought this topic was so interesting I'm going to bump it back up to see if others have any ideas. Hmmm a quilt from 6 fat quarters plus extra if you want???? Hope there are other great suggestions cause I'm interested too.

How can you make a 96 inch quilt top from 6 fat quarters? unless you add a lot of fabrics?

I need to see the fabrics before an idea for a pattern may come to mind. Do you need to use all 6?

I think it would be 24 inches on each side thus the "96 inches around the outside edge" - that would make sense with 6 quarters.

Here is a quilt I made with six fat quarters plus a border last year.
Coincidentally, it had pink and teal.
