Default Janome machines

Do the Janome machine go up by the number as related to the higher numbers being better machines?
For instance I'm looking at the 6800....7700 and 8900. So is the 7700 have more than the 6800 and 8900 have more than the 7700
Haven't even started to price the yet either...do the higher model numbers mean the cost rises with each model?
We have no dealers around here so I'd anyone has advice please let me know

As far as for quilting, I'd say yes. I'm not sure about the embroidery machines, but someone on this board will be able to give you a better answer. I do, however, love my Janome!

I have an 8900QCP and I know the 9900 has embroidery capability, but not as many feet as the 8900. I think the best way to check is to go to the Janome website. You can do a comparison of different models.

Pretty much yes ... I have the 6900 and I know it has more features than the 6500 but less than the 7700 or 8900.

I am currently shopping for a Janome machine. I have settled on the 8900QCP because I want the larger harp for quilting. The challenge I am having is finding a price. The prices are not listed on line and so when you talk to a dealer you don't have a good benchmark as to whether the price they are giving you is a good one or not. I currently have a discussion thread going on Quilting Board asking for price points for this machine. I have found that some people have paid more than $1000 more than others. This makes it very hard to shop even though I know what machine I want.

I have a Janome 6600P and love it. I had it in the shop last week for a cleaning, and the owner of the shop (who is a Janome dealer, and has been in business for almost 30 years) told me that everyone raves about the 6600, but he gets a lot of complaints about the 7700 and 8900. I found that interesting....

I have a 8200 (same as 8900 but with less fancy stitches) The machine is generally great but it is finicky. I've always had tension issues but the dealer is replacing the tension discs so hopefully that takes care of that problem. I think as machines get longer throats and more fancy "stuff" they get more complain prion.

I dont think the model numbers are necessarily in a sequence. I have the sewing/embroidery 9700 and the 9900. The 10000, 11000 and 12000came out Before the 9900. Now the 15000 is out. Go figure.

I have a 4000, 6600 and 11,000 plus I have a gem. Love them all. Look on ebay. I found my 11,000 on there for $3000.00 and it had been gently used. Got it 2 years ago and love it. Use my 6600 daily and also is a great machine. Also if you check on ebay a lot of times they have new machines at a very reasonable price.

I have the 7700 and love it. I've had it for a little over a year and no problems at all. O my. hope I don't jinx myself. I must go give my girl a big hug now.
