Cool Electric Quilt 7

HI, Has any one out there tried Electric Quilt 7 computer program. I am thinking about getting it but have never used it before, so I am not sure what its like and if its worth it. I do love to try and design my own quilts. Cheers Quilter qld.

I recently downloaded the FREE program Gimp. I found the info here on the board. It allows me to design without paying out all the money for EQ7 to find out if I like it or not. It's worth a shot before you get the EQ7.

I use it. And I like it. I just used the tutorial that comes with it - tho I don't design as some others do with it I do like using it. I use the feature that tells me the yardage I need for the size quilt I am making. I am certainly no expert on the program.

I've had EQ since it was on disc and only used DOS. It's a great program. I have Quilt Pro, Foundation Factory, EQ Boutique and Sew Precise. EQ is my favorite.

I, too, have EQ5 with no need to upgrade. There is a steep learning curve to get the most out of the program but it's doable. I'm certainly no expert either but do like lots of the features. Have never tried any of the other software out there so can't give you a basis for comparison.

I use it all the time - it's brilliant; it does so much more than EQ6. I still have heaps to learn but it's easy to get going.

I tried Gimp. It's not made for quilting like the quilt software programs. I was frustrated with it in no time.

If you buy EQ7, get it from the quiltinaday web site - big savings. You don't see the savings until you load it in your basket. I use EQ all the time, even used it recently to figure out a floor plan for a house! Big improvements were made to the user interface in EQ6, and more improvements to the program and to its licensing in EQ7.
