I just moved into a bigger room and now have more room but its carpet so my chair won't roll. I have one of those hard plastic floor covering you would use in a office in front of the main machine but those are expensive. So I'm trying to figure out something else to use.

I have the plastic runner, but I got mine from Costco quite awhile ago and they weren't that expensive.

there are chair rollers for carpet, just like there are rollers for hard floors.

does it need to be carpeting? carpeting is the hardest thing to maintain in a sewing room. any hard surface would be better. what's under the carpeting?

I had a large old cutting board for fabric, so I use that. It works great.
