i see many new fabrics that are 'gilded' with gold, i wonder how this fabric stands up to washing.
many are oriental, christmas themed. has any one had problems with the durability of these fabrics
for every day quilts. thanks in advance for replying. canada here!

I have some that I've had for quite a while. It's been thru the wash several times & so far has been fine.

as with all of our fabrics- it depends on the quality/manufacturer/source
some of them hold up fine for years & many washings- some come off on your hands when you are working with them- and it's almost gone before a project is done.
if you are purchasing quilt shop fabrics- from good designers/companies they will be beautiful for many years to come.
if you find it on the dollar table at wally world it probably wont look the same by the time you finish sewing it.
