Quilt Smart has an applique pattern- and I believe it is the same one Eleanor Burns does - you sew the fabric to a interfacing and applique it to the background fabric

what pattern are you using, a judy neimeyer one, it would help so others who have made that specific pattern can guide you to what you are doing wrong.

The Rings that Bind takes triple the fabric to make a quilt but worth it for a hassle free DRW. I have the DWR die for the Go and the pieces are cut perfectly so everything matches so much better then if I rotary cut them. I cut the pieces for a queen size quilt in less then 20 min. There is a lady in New Mexico that has the templates for this same method but I can't remember her name. She's at most big quilt shows.

Found her! It's not the DWR but close to it. :http://quiltershaven.secure-mall.com.../Starter-Set-3
