Does anyone have recommendations for a really great embroidery hoop? I have a plastic one, but it doesnt keep the fabric tight enough. Thanks for any input. Love this board.

i've heard that the ones that have a metal ring that is not quite 360º and must be squeezed to put into the outside ring are very good

I also have slipping problems so I use a scrap of cotton batting between the fabric and the hoop. It makes it tight enough for me. I've also heard there is a sort of tape avail. for slipping but I've never tried it. Nancy's Notions might have it.

These are the ones I use and they hold the material as tight as they can.

I use these also - have several sizes, they're my favorite.

I am a long time stitcher doing both embroidery and cross stitch. I have used the plain plastic ones, woooden, and about 5 years ago began using the hoops put out by Clover. They are by far the best hoops I have ever used. The screw is hidden so the fabric doesn't get caught up in it. They are a bit more in price but boy are they worth it.
