Default Embroidery Machine question???

I ordered a design from Urban Threads. My machine is telling me that I cannot use the hoop. The design is reading 8.60 x 4.63. The hoop size is 10.25 x 6.25. My machine is a Baby Lock Ellageo Plus. Someone suggested to me that I may need to reformat the design. I have never had to reformat a design as of yet. I have only had my machine a few months, and still fairly new to embroidery. Can some out here possibly tell me how to do this? Any other suggestions are welcome as well.

Do you have your mainscreen set to your hoop setting, because I had one set for a different setting once and it wouldn't recognize the design, also if you don't have it centered and placed at an awkward angle it might say your hoop isn't compatible. These are a few things I have learned over the past few months as a newbie. under the settings key, it looks like a piece of paper their should be a page for setting the embroidery background which shows the boundaries of the specific hoop chosen. I found this out 2 weeks ago and have been using my machine for 6month. Your manual is knowledge and brother has one of the most detailed out there compared to some so read the manual. It should explain everything in detail for each setting for your babylock. my guess is that it is a setting or you have the design not placed correctly within perimeters of your hoop.

The only thing I can think of is that the design is either rotated, so that it's actually 4.63 X 8.60 or it's positioned near the edge of the hoop so that part of the design falls outside the embroidery area. I would send Urban Threads a note and tell them what's happening. Might be something wrong with the file. I've had my machine for 10 years and have ordered from lots of companies and never have had a problem.

I have read through the manual, couldn't find this problem. I loaded the design onto a USB and loaded into the machine that way. I have tried to re-size the design smaller. When the screen opens it suggest what hoop to use, it is already telling me to use the largest hoop. When I put that into the machine it tells me "you cannot use this hoop".

Send a note back to urban threads. Since they are the same people that do emblibrary.com (I believe), they will be very responsive and try to help you.

I have had a problem, but not with any of their stuff--just one design I needed reworked by the designer so that my machine would do it. It should have worked, but for some reason, messed up three times at the same place. The designer reworked it for me--and it worked. Now that I have my own software, I may be able to do it myself, but that was before I had embird.

Thank you all for your help. I did send an email to Urban Threads, just waiting back for a response. Hopefully, I will hear back soon, my GD found this design and I hope to keep her interested. Thanks again.

If you machine takes the size hoop you are trying to use then maybe as someone else said the design is outside the hoop on the machine screen then it has to be rotated, or you can change the size of your hoop in the machine to fit the design. I can do that with mine which is a diamond. I do not know you machine but it seems like you should be able to do the same if you have the hoop.
