Wow! Kathdavis, you've made some really neat things. Had to chuckle over the toilet paper!

I bought a Baby Lock Emore from a friend just before Christmas. Really wanted the Janome 9700, but that's not possible right now. Anyhow, I decided to buy the Baby Lock #1 because of the price, and #2 because I figured I would see if I really used an embroidery machine. Let me tell you....I am loving this thing! I've mostly been doing mongrams, phrases, and a few motifs. I'm finding that a mongram adds a nice personal touch to the little bags I make.

So, I will keep up with this thread for ideas, etc (can't promise that I am going to read the previous 300+ pages, though). Glad I found you folks!

I have the Janome 11000SE and it's really fun to work with. I did really cool huck towels with embroidered ornaments on them for Christmas gifties this year, plus I monogram my bags too. I haven't gotten into embroidering anything with like 20 colors or anything yet, but have enough embroidery files to embroider from the East coast to the West coast. I get lots of nice stuff from embroiderylibrary.com

Just got a Janome 10001. It is in the shop getting checked over. I am picking it up Monday and taking a lesson on it. Boy oh boy, I cannot wait. Will keep watching this thread for updates.

Customizer is a digitizing program for Janome. You can download simple clipart and digitize it so you can stitch it out. Customizer is a very basic program. It usually sells for about $300. I got lucky and purchased mine on ebay for $100 as a donation to save greyhounds. So it was tax deductible. The good digitizing programs, like Florini run about $2300, or $1400 when they run specials. Big difference from Customizer.

I have a Brother 1500D and really like it, although I am still learning all of the ends and outs as far as stablilizers and hooping go. The largest hoop that came with my machine is the 6 X 10 but I haven't used it yet. Hope to see a lot of pictures, hints and design ideas on this thread, also.

I have the Brother SE 350 but have not used the embroidery part yet and am planning to try to learn how to use it. I would like to learn to embroider for gifts and myself of course. I would love to do some towel sets and clothes but am nervous about trying it. I have a lot of projects going but would love to join you all. Please feel free to PM me or I'll try to watch. Thanks Karen craftybear for the invite. Sue

I have a Babylock Ellure Plus that I bought over a year ago. I love it! I found this forum and am glad we can all chat about the ups and downs we find ourselves with embroidery learning! It takes practice and time. I will concur with many of you, I use emblibrary.com for their designs. The plus? They have great tutorials (video and txt format) on a lot of their projects. If I had more time after I get home from work I'd be o n the machine like crazy but unfortunately I don't Again, lets share what we know, want to know, have known and plenty of pics!
