There is a Brother embroidery-only machine on sale today online from Joann's. I think it's on sale for $329 and only good for today and tomorrow. Hope this helps.

Check out the Brother 770, its embroidery only but it has a 5x7 field. I hear great things of these machines and the prices fall below $1,000. Some on this board have them and give good reviews. I have the Babylock Spirit and it does up to 7x12 field however it is pricey.

lynnie, are you looking for a multi needle machine or a one needle machine? I have a 6-needle Babylock that I bought used, very low mileage, and purchased the 4 year service contract, including tax I paid $5010.

I have this one....It's a wonderful machine. I have the 4x4, 5x7 and the 12x5 hoops. It's listed on the site for $700.00.
