Embroidery question
#82
This is something I'm very interested in - using my embroidery machine to do the quilting.
Do any of you use a Snap Hoop or continuous hoop (the kind that is a flat metal base and a magnetic top) as opposed to the traditional hoop with the lips?
I saw a bunch of videos on You Tube about the Snap Hoop and it looks as if the hooping and rehooping would be so much easier. Yes, $$$, but if you do a lot of these, it might be worth the cost.

digitalartquilt has some beautiful patterns for quilting your quilt on her site and the prices are good too.
I used one of hers and there was no jump stitches to cut.. I'm still working on the quilt and will post when it is done.
You embroider the 3 layers and if you use the same thread in the bobbin it really looks great on both sides.
I do not use any stabbilizer as the quilt acts like one.
I do hoop my quilts as long as the batting isn't real thick.
Also Redwork really looks good, I have used it on a number of baby quilts and they come out so cute.
So you can use your embroidery machine for the piecing and then the quilting, I have a husqvarna #1+
Love my embroidery machine
