I am looking for a bag pattern that begins with a very large square of fabric - 36" sq. I think. It's lined with batting and fabric. Anyway you fold it a couple of times on the diagonals and voila - a bag with pockets on the outside.

It's supposed to be a diaper bag, but I thought it would make a great tote! It's FLAT but very stylish. I had downloaded it from the website, but didn't bookmark it or anything. Now I can't find the printout.

Any ideas? Links? I gave up searching "Diaper Bag Patterns."

    Mucho appreciate any help.

My youngest sister told me about this bag many years ago. You just need two squares of fabrice the same size, place rightsides together, sew all four side seams leaving an opening in one to turn out. You could use batting as well if you wanted to. Fold square on the diagonal to form a triangle. Measure the folded edge and divide into thirds and sew a seam at those markings 90degrees to the fold. The middle third forms the main part of the bag. Turn back the end sections over the centre section to form outside pockets. A bit of handsewing to anchor these sections in place. Make handles to suit. Hope you are able to understand my instructions.
