Empty thread spools

Check with you local schools and daycares they use them for crafts and in some learning exercises.

Have you seen the dolls made with the wooden ones?
Big spool for body, smaller spools for arms and legs, round wooden ball for head, yarn or spanish moss for hair...The one
I have also has quilted wings, an applique heart on her dress and a wire halo.
A friend of mine hot glued several of the white spools together (biggest spool at the bottom) and topped them with a wooden ball and used that instead of the clear plastic cone as a base for a wired ribbon angel (tree topper size but to sit on a table or shelf).
