Enlarging Star Spin pattern
I made my daughter a star spin table topper a couple of years ago. She loves it but now has a larger table & would like one that will better fit the new table. I am wondering if I add another 3 - 4 rows in the strip set if this will work. Has anyone tried this?

It is basically triangles constructed with strips. I would think the larger the strips and triangles, the larger the finished Star Spin would be. I did one but I cheated and used a border print rather then construct the strip set.

Wouldn't it just be easier to enlarge the pattern you have by a couple inches or so. Star Spin doesn't seem like a pattern that could be enlarged by simply adding strips.

I just made the Strata Star pattern and you can make it in two sizes by adding another strip to the strip set. The smaller one is 7 strips and larger is 8 strips. Think it would also work by cutting 2 inch strips instead of the 1 1/2 that the patttern calls for. Strata Star and Star Spin look to be the same pattern for the table topper(wall hanging size). Good luck.

But you'll need longer strips of fabric if you either add strips or use wider strips. So, you'll need to calculate how much more fabric you'll need. Both options will work though.
I'm adding a single fabric in the corners of mine to make it larger. Haven't finished it yet, though.
