I have EQ and it's the only quilt design program you'll need. It is for beginners to advanced designers. I haven't used all the features in it and I've had every version.

I like mine when I take the time to use it. It was a gift from the kids.

I know most people love it, but I just keep going back to the old pencil and paper method. I guess I'm just not very computer literate??? I don't know, but I never can seem to get it to do what I want. I think I need a class. tee hee

If you use the computer in your job frequently or everyday life you should have no problem. I did a few lessons and got the hang of it and went from there.

Personally I love the program because I am math challenged (this coming from a person who is a payroll manager). I like the fact that I can play with my design, color, and layout before I even purchase one yard of fabric or cut one piece.

It has opened a whole new world of quilting that I thought I could never be part of.

One huge thing I LOVE about it - is changing block sizes and all the templates, or rotary cutting measurements are automatically fixed..
you choose your block size and then your block - and can change both however you like...

you can play with colors and fabrics, it computes yardage, you can add borders or remove them, put in sashing, take it out....

and that's just the simple stuff LOL

but I do have to mention my 'pet peeve'... the 4 installation limit and the having to have internet access to install...

Since I bought mine 3 years ago, there hasn't been a week (or days) that has gone by that I don't use it for something :D:D:D I would hate to be without it!!!

The only other draw back that I can think of - if you haven't done some quilting and piecing you may have a hard time putting the blocks together because the program does not give you instructions on how to assemble them.
